Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan to star in the Hindi remake of the Tamil Original Vikram Vedha. It was originally starred by R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Produced by S. Sashikanth, the movie is inspired from Baital Pachisi, an Indian folktale.
It is affirmed that Hrithik will play the role of an ageing gangster, Vijay Sethupathis’s Vedha.
Close sources have said “Hrithik will be starting shoot for the film in June. He is going to be seen playing a Gangster, and will portray the role of Vedha in the film which is quite exciting.”
The movie is set to be directed by the duo Pushkar and Gayathri who directed the original Tamil version as well. The talks and preparations have already been initiated and is in its beginning phase, prepping for the official shoot.
The shooting of the original was mostly done in North Chennai. The location of the shooting of the remake has not yet been announced.
Sources claim “While Hrithik has already started prepping for the role, extensive preparation for the role will begin from the month of May.” Saif Ali Khan is set to play opposite Hrithik. He will play the role of Madhavan’s Vikram who is an encounter cop.
Vikram Vedha, the original film was released in July 2017 and received optimistic feedback from all over. Praised by critics and fans alike, the movie made 110 million in the box office.
It also gathered 600 million worldwide and received an Edison Award, two Techofes Awards, four filmfares, Norway Tamil Film Festival, and three Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards.
